YAMAHA TO BUILD BIKES IN PAKISTAN ...DON’T WORRY THEY WON’T BE MOTOCROSS BIKES

The Yamaha YZ450F and YZ250F won’t be coming from Karachi, yet
  


Yamaha will start building motorcycle in Pakistan by 2015.  according to Yamaha President Hiroyuki Yanagi. Yamaha will first invest $150,000,000 in a Pakistani plant that could produce 40,000 motorcycle a year when finished and as many as 400,000 machines a year by 2020. The factory will be built In the Bin Qasim Industrial Park near Karachi.

The Pakistan motorcycle market is expected to double to 3 million units in 2020 from its current level of 1.5 million. According to Yamaha, most motorcycles sold in Pakistan are old-style Chinese-made model. The Pakistan Yamaha plant will most likely focus on cheap urban commuter motorcycles in the 100cc category.
