Yesterday, out at the Cahuilla Creek MX track in Southern California, a little fighting action went down between Chad Reed and 125 rookie sensation Jason Lawrence.
Apparently, Jason and his roommate Kyle were out for a nice day at the track, just doing motos and minding their own business. To start the whole thing off, Kyle stalled his bike in a corner. He was on a four-stroke, and it took him a while to get it re-started. Jason pulled up to see if everything was okay, when Chad Reed cut in between the two of them and pelted both of them with a handful of throttle from his 450.

Jason and Kyle were a little angry about Chad’s actions, but they went about their day as they were, just a little muddier. Then, a few minutes later, Chad Reed slammed Kyle. Jason acted fast. He caught Chad (on a borrowed RM250), and Chad brake-checked him, so Jason caught him back and managed to get past him. Jason hit a big mud puddle, splashing mud and water all over Chad. Jason wasn’t finished yet, though. He then took Chad out. Obviously, Chad was less than thrilled that he was taken out by some 18 year-old rookie, so he cut the track, layed his bike down, and when Jason came by, tackled him off of his bike. Chad got on top of Jason and pulled his goggles off and grabbed his helmet. Fists were thrown, but there’s no word yet as to who won the bout.
Since Jason is in the top twenty in points in the 125 class, he and Chad will be in the same practice this Saturday in Colorado. There just might be some sparks. |
