Tommy Searle took the 250 class victory at the French Grand Prix...when first moto winner and 250 points leader Ken Roczen crashed twice on the first lap of the second moto. Roczen charged back up to eighth place before slowing and ending up 11th in moto two.

Searle’s victory is his first since his return to Europe and his second-ever French GP win. Roczen had a bad day, but he still leads the 250 title chase by 13 points over Jeffrey Herlings (who went 7-2 in France) and 25 points on Searle.
Steven Frossard.
In the 450 class, Steven Frossard was the fastest and most consistent rider. His 1-2 results were good enough for a hometown victory. Frossard had led the 450 World Championship early in the season, but lost the lead to Clement Desalle after bad days in the USA and Brazil.
Desalle (25), Nagl (2), Cairoli (222), Bobryshev (777), Ramon (11), Philippaerts (19) and Goncalves (999).
Desalle had the exact same day in France that Roczen had in the 250 class—and 11-1 score. Desalle, as with Roczen, fell on the first lap and ended up 11th...which mirrored Roczen’s 1-11 score in the 250 class.
Clement Desalle still leads the 450 points after five of 15 events.
Frossard stopped Cairoli from winning the first moto...which helped Clement Desalle in the points chase. Desalle would come back and win the second 450 moto. Frossard’s 1-2 took the day, while Cairoli got second overall with a 2-3. Ben Townley returned to action and went 8-22.
Desalle’s bad first moto left him only 6 points in front of Cairoli in the points standings.
