If, and only if, Livia Lancelot takes points away from any male 250 World Championship contender at the Qatar or Thailand GPs, you can expect a major protest. Lancelot is 25 years old, and thus is not legal in the 250 World Championship, at least she wasn’t legal until Monday, February 18. A new rule was written to allow women of any age to race the 250 class, while men over the age of 23 are barred.
What other rules doesn’t Lancelot have to abide by? How about the 108% time rule? Does she have to start behind the gate? Does she even have to qualify for the final? The weird thing about equal rights is that they should be applied equally. This rule won't fly.
