APRIL 28---MOTOCROSS NOISE TEST SCHEDULED FOR NEW TRACK IN SANTA CLARITA

The Castaic Action Sports Canyon track is proposed to be built one mile from the northern terminus of Castaic Road.

In addition to the motocross park,
Castaic Action Sports Canyon
project would include picnic and camping areas, two paintball fields and a recreation center with programs for teens and seniors, an arboretum, skate parks and walking trails. As many as seven industrial buildings would be constructed at the park entrance to house businesses catering to motocross enthusiasts, one of the fastest-growing sports in the nation, according to motocross fans.

The noise test will determine whether residents, the closest of whom live a mile away, will be affected by excessive noise. 50 to 70 motorcycle riders will participate, as well as 30 Pee-Wee riders. Results of the audio test will be included in the completed California Environmental Quality Act report. Traffic, dust and biological surveys also will be taken.
