 Dear MXA,
    I’ve seen a lot of hype about electric motocross bikes. Will we be racing electric motocross bikes in the future?

    You might be, but we won’t. As it stands today the modern electric motocross bike is a $7000 downhill mountain bikes that would be hard pressed to make more than one lap of the Glen Helen National track (if they could even make it up Mt. Saint Helen). The MXA gang has ridden electric motocross bike and they are a blast to ride on a BMX track, parking lot or flat field, but until they can race on the same tracks as internal combustion engine bikes, they are just novelties. Very expensive novelties!
