ASK THE MXPERTS: I Have Trouble With My 2004 KX250F Petcock

ASK THE MXPERTS:  2004 KX250F PETCOCK TROUBLES

Dear MXA,
I own a 2004 Kawasaki KX250F. I have had to replace the fuel line from the tank to the carb four times. I’ve even tried other kinds of fuel line, but it always starts leaking. What am I doing wrong?

You aren’t doing anything wrong. On the 2004 KX250F and RM-Z250 the gas lines had a tendency to rupture when a rider would land from a big jump. Why? The gas tank flexing under hard landings, forcing the gas line to hit against the engine’s valve cover. The solution is to remove your gas tank and put more rubber padding between the frame
