ASK THE MXPERTS: IS IT TRUE THAT DUNLOP IS GOING TO DROP THE 756?

What am I going to do if I can’t get my favorite front tire?
   Dear MXA,
Tell me it isn’t true that Dunlop is going to drop the 756 tires tires. What am I going to do now?

Dunlop's new tires have started a firestorm.

You are going to suffer along with all of the die-hard D756 fans around the world. In what has to be one of the craziest marketing moves of the decade, Dunlop is dropping all of their existing motocross tires (742, 745, 756 and 773) and replacing them with their new Geomax MX71, MX51 and MX31 tires. We have raced with all three sets of new Dunlop tires and have no real complaints about the rear tires (MX71 for hard terrain, MX51 for intermediate terrain and MX31 for soft terrain), but, in our opinion, there is not a tire in the Geomax line that is an versatile and effective as the 756 front. Now, the MXA test riders have to look at the track and determine whether it will be hard enough for the MX71 or soft enough for the MX31—we never run the MX51 front tire. As a rule of thumb, we almost always choose to run the MX51 rear tire over the other Dunlop offerings...and most test riders mate it to the MX31 front tire, but be forewarned that the MX31 is a soft terrain tire and will chunk knobs on hardpack (so choose accordingly).
