Is there an easy way to tell if the rings on my YZ450F are worn out. I’m not mechanic enough to check them. Are there telltale signs?
Yes. Keep an eye on the oil breather tube exits. It's normal to see moisture, but if it's leaking oil like a blown fork seal, there's a good chance the rings are blown. Another quick way to check engine health is to keep an eye on oil consumption. If you lose more than the difference from the “high” mark to the “low” mark in a day's worth of riding, there is something wrong.
