ASK THE MXPERTS: What's With The Cost of 2004 KX125 Plugs

Dear MXA,
I have a 2004 KX125. When I went to the dealer to buy a spark plug, the parts person told me it would be $36.70 for the R6918B-9. I did some research and found that the 2003 and 2005 bike use a BR9EVX which is a much cheaper plug. Can I use this plug in my bike without having any problems?

We asked Pro Circuit's Mitch Payton, who built the last KX125s on the AMA National circuit, and he said that you can use any spark plug, of the proper heat range, that you want in your KX125. You don't even have to worry about getting a resistor or nonresistor plug. They will all work.
