DREAM JOBS: HOW TO MAKE A LIVING DOING WHAT YOU LOVE

Aaron Johnson: Pro Circuit Kawasaki Engine R&D Technician

AARON JOHNSON

PRO CIRCUIT KAWASAKI ENGINE R&D

STARTING POINT: “My brothers, Keith, Kevin and Isaiah, all raced professionally. I like to think that I was the smart one. I started wrenching for my brother and worked my way up to Pro Circuit. Mitch Payton gave me the choice to do engine development or work for Ryan Villopoto. I don’t know if I made the right choice when I chose engine development, but I love my job and get to do a lot of different things for the team.”

THE JOB: “I have a wide assortment of responsibilities. I do engine stuff, practice-bike stuff; I help with clamps and help Bones with suspension. I like to think of myself as a jack of all trades. My main responsibility is to dyno race engines and customer-spec products. When all the new bikes come out, we run through the cams, pistons, pipes and ECU parts.”
