GRAND PRIX MOTOCROSS: ZACH OSBORNE RETURNS THIS WEEKEND; SHAUN SIMPSON GETS STEVEN FROSSARD’S WORKS YZ450FM

Yamaha’s Grand Prix Teams shuffle riders as old faces return and steady performers get rewarded

Zach Osborne has missed the complete 250 GP motocross season. He will back in Sweden.

The Swedish GP is the ninth round of the 16 races in the FIM World Motocross Championships and it will see the return of Zach Osborne. Osborne injured his shoulder before the season started and this will be his first GP of 2012. Zach said, “I feel good on the bike. I feel as if I never stopped riding. I'm sure in a race situation it would be different but I have a good start and am getting better and better. Before my injury I had a lot of momentum. I was fitter and faster than ever before so to get back to that level could take a little time. I just have to do my best to get back to a high level of fitness and competition form. I need to have some podiums and I would love to be on top form for the Grand Prix at Matterley Basin. It will be my last British GP for a while and I want to do good. It's local for me and for the team and it would be special to do well there.”

Shaun Simpson will trade teams at the midway point of the 450 World Championships.

In the 450 class, Shaun Simpson will fill the vacancy at the Rinaldi team left when Steven Frossard decided to have his knee fixed. Frossard will not be back on his bike this season. So Simpson, the former British Champion and current Belgian champion, will take his place at the factory-backed Italian team for the remainder of the season.
