Have you seen the PMW Shocker? If you had you would remember it. The PMW Shocker is a radical electric off-road motorcycle that uses the Nevada company’s patented Cantilevered Independent Dynamic Linkless Indispension (CDLI) suspension system.
The PMW Shocker steering is derived from using an extended steering tube that turns the front wheel from a position down by the front engine mount.
Where did PMW (Patmont Motor Werks) test their unusual suspension design? Believe it or not they developed it first for their wildly popular GoPed scooters. GoPed offers a large range of electric powered scooters and some use the CIDLI concept. As offroad riders, the PMW people wanted to try to build an offroad bike—thus, the Shocker.
The PMW Shocker weighs 210 pounds and is powered by 2.3 KWh lithium-polymer batteries via a DC brushless motor. Of course, as with all electric-powered bikes, torque off idle is impressive. The unique suspension offers over 13 inches of travel. The sprocket ratios are set for a peak of 60 mph.
