WEIRD STUFF YOU GOTTA SEE! THE PERAVES MONOTRACER

A Bullet Of Bike; Only with Full Bodywork And A 155 MPH Top Speed; And A German Video To Boot

Made in Switzerland for only $77,000.

The Peraves Monotracer is a street-legal motorcycle that offers all the benefits of a high-performance sports car. The monocoque kevlar/carbon body is epoxy-resin reinforced with roll bars. The frame, steering head and stabilizer axles are made from aircraft grade alloy steel. The suspension is handled by Marzocchi 50mm USD-forks up front and a Monolever shaft swingarm in the rear. Entry is via a Gull-wing-door with integrated sunroof. There are windshield wipers, a stereo and plush seats.

The retractable stabilizer wheels are visible midway up the cowling.

The Peraves Monotracer has room for two people seated in tandem in Recaro seats (with three-point safety belts). The powerplant is a four-cylinder, 16-valve, BMW K1200 engine that develops 130 horsepower. There is a four-speed transmission (with reverse gear). The top speed is 155 mph.

The Monotracer can lean to a 55-degree angle. That is about 10 degrees steeper than any street motorcycle.

Peraves intends to build just 100 of the $77,000 machines, and owners will have to attend a training course—in Switzerland.
