MXA’S DENNIS STAPLETON WINS QATAR GRAND PRIX INTERNATIONAL MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP AT LOSAIL CIRCUIT

Your first chance to see the Qatar motocross Grand Prix track before the GP season opener in 12 days... MXA is there to test the track

Dennis Stapleton makes the sports page in the Gulf Times.

For first time ever in Qatar, a motocross event was organized on an international track with the participation of 35 riders from 12 different nations: Qatar, Kuwait, USA, UAE, South Africa, Bahrain, Australia, Spain, Sri Lanka, Germany, France and Great Britain in the two different categories, MX1 and MX2.

Motocross Action’s Dennis Stapleton won both motos. Kuwait’s Moaath Al Ansari was second with Mishary Abou Shaibath in third place. The MXA test rider was in Qatar to train the Kuwaiti National team (and since the Kuwaitis went 1-2-3...if you count Stapleton as part of the Kuwait team, things are looking good for the Arab Championship). Stapleton was sponsored by the Kuwait KTM importer. The FIM MX1/MX2 World Championship will be organized in the same Losail motocross track on March 1 -2 (at night). Mr. Nasser Khalifa Al Attiya, Qatara Grand Prix promoter said, “I am very happy to start today the opening of the Losail MX track that will the scenario for the FIM MX1/MX2 World Championship on the March 1-2. We are doing this race as preparations for all the organization and to check our ability to organize the World Championship in a few weeks.”
